PARRLON 2012-2013

Audition notices went up throughout the college, pulling us all in........Selections occurred and the excitement began.

 One could taste the excitement and feel the charge in the atmosphere. This lead to a lot of fun filled evenings that included little bit of practice and lots of fights and eventually compromises over the limited place available to practice.

 All this while, amid this chaos, the passionate artists of the college were striving hard to create a soaring backdrop for Parrlon 2012-2013 and the various Council and Committee members were on a quest to attain sponsorship for the Parrlon to make it a huge success. They even sold raffles to raise money for it, presenting an opportunity to try one’s luck in the lucky draw!!!

      

 

On 7^th December we had the mock Parrlon, i.e. a final run through the entire programme before the final show on 8^th. It was quite beneficial as it gave us an experience of the workings behind the stage that are a must for the show to go on.

        Finally, 8^th December, the day of reckoning was upon us. 

Mr Varadesh Hiregange, the Director of MIC, manipal, was the chief guest. Our dynamic Dean-Dr.B Rajshekhar, the Associate Dean-Mr Sabu and faculty members were also present.

The nerves of the participants were palpable. The nervous energy of the participants mixed with their excitement and anticipation backstage, resulted in the creation of an explosive cocktail which took the viewers high when presented onstage creating a new high for Parrlon.

The evening was a potpourri of dances, music and even a skit. Beginning with an Indian classical prayer dance, followed by the unveiling of the backdrop, we saw the evening take interesting and diverse turns showcasing various dance forms, solo, group and duet musical performances and a pretty comical skit. 

Tying the ribbon on a beautifully wrapped present that the evening proved to be, was the dance prepared by the Student Council along with all the Committees of our college. 

 A result of the combined efforts of the Student Council, the Cultural Committee, the Editorial Board, the Sports Committee and the cooperation of the teachers, Parrlon 2012-2013 was a great success and one of the best ever!!!!!!!!
