The Happiness Project!!!

So it’s January, and many of us are probably still in our Christmas mood, but now it’s back to the grind, and I’m not ready! Now that the holidays are over, what stretches before us looks like an endless sea of bleakness (college!!!), but don't worry- this feeling won’t last forever! I’m usually not one for New Year’s resolutions—they are too easy to break, and they end up making you feel like a failure before the end of January. But this year, I thought I'd keep one, and only one.

To be happy :)

One thing I've always noticed, is that most of us always try running away from our problems, rather than just facing them. But in the end, it's life. You can't run away from it, and you can definitely not hide from it. Meanwhile, what we can do, is accept what it gives us, and face our problems and frustrations with a brave face. And maybe, just maybe, they'd turn into your best friends, your companions. They'll make you stronger, they'll help you face reality and  teach you to value the little things in life. Because most of us, always, always fail to look at the brighter side of things.

There’re way too many beautiful things around which we seldom notice. And maybe that is why we don't find happiness, we keep looking for it in the wrong places. 'FIND' happiness - makes it look like it’s some sort of destination, doesn't it? We keep "looking" for it; mostly because we fail to understand that happiness isn't really something which we can “find”, it's not a destination, it's not something you find along the road of life; it’s a choice, a feeling - you can be happy wherever, whenever, only if you CHOOSE to be
Happiness is something within you, waiting to be found, waiting to keep you company, waiting to help you escape from this harsh reality.

(You make mine yellow)

As Tyler Knott said,
"Stare into the storms of your life, dare them to make your shoulders wet. Dare them."

So this year, that's what I'm going to do. I've promised myself that I'm not going to let my troubles put me down. Nobody is happy all the time, but some people are definitely more fulfilled than others. Happy people are just better at bouncing back to a state of contentedness. We may all feel negative at moments in our lives, but always try to bounce back and live in the moment, and be content with everything you do.

So remember, happiness- is a choice, not a destination. Know that things aren't always as bad as they seem; there exists nothing which you can't conquer.
Wishing you a year full of loud laughs, and unforgettable happy moments to remember and cherish for the coming years.
 Happy 2013!!! :) :D B)
